Townhome Renovation
Hargett
A downtown Raleigh townhome given a contemporary spin, built around a black and brass kitchen with a marble waterfall island.

Project type
Residential Interiors
A beamed great room built around a stacked-stone fireplace, with emerald built-ins, brass and terracotta tile.
This is a room with real architecture to work with: exposed timber beams, a stacked-stone chimney breast with a heavy timber mantel, and terracotta tile underfoot. The design leans into all of it rather than trying to neutralise it.
Deep emerald built-ins flank the fireplace and carry through to the bar in the corner, which turns a colour choice into a structural idea. Cream upholstery keeps the seating light against the stone, and a round coffee table on a brass base softens a room otherwise full of straight lines.
Layered lighting does the rest. A glass globe fixture over the seating, picture lights on the shelving and warm lamplight in the bar mean the room works as well in the evening as it does at midday.
Every project here was designed, sourced and installed by the same studio team.
