Townhome Renovation
Hargett
A downtown Raleigh townhome given a contemporary spin, built around a black and brass kitchen with a marble waterfall island.

Project type
New Construction
A three-storey coastal new build on the North Carolina shore, designed inside and out for how a beach house is really used.
New construction is where interior design has the most leverage, because nothing has been fixed yet. On this coastal build, decisions about circulation, storage and where the light lands were made while they were still drawings.
The house is arranged over three storeys with deep balconies on every level, elevated above garaging in the way coastal building requires. White siding, black-framed glazing and a standing-seam metal roof keep the exterior crisp against a lot of sky.
Inside, the brief was a house that copes with sand, wet swimsuits and a full complement of guests without feeling like a rental. That means durable surfaces, generous circulation and enough seating that nobody has to move a chair to join a conversation.
Every project here was designed, sourced and installed by the same studio team.
