A downtown Raleigh townhome given a contemporary spin, built around a black and brass kitchen with a marble waterfall island.
Secondary spaces are where clients tend to give themselves permission, and this one takes it. A charcoal feature wall in mitred geometric panelling runs the length of the room, holding a single piece of abstract art lit from either side.
Raspberry velvet does the heavy lifting for colour, in channel-stitched stools and full-length drapery, set against a quartz waterfall bar and a woven armchair pairing that keeps the seating informal.
Brass appears three ways: cube chandeliers, a sputnik fixture and a row of small figural wall hooks that give the room its sense of humour. It is a considered space that does not take itself too seriously.
